Who Is God — YAHWEH?
The Bible doesn’t describe God as an abstract idea or distant force. He is the living, personal, holy Creator who desires relationship with His people. In the Old Testament, God reveals His covenant name as YAHWEH (יהוה), meaning “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14). This name shows us His eternal, self-existent, and unchanging nature. He has no beginning, no end, and no rival.
Who He Is?
- Our Creator – God is the Maker of everything. 📖 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1 NIV)
- The Great “I AM” – God defines Himself. He is not dependent on anything or anyone. “God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.’” (Exodus 3:14 NIV)
- Holy & Set Apart – His holiness means He is completely pure, righteous, and unlike anything else. “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” (Isaiah 6:3 NIV)
- Unchanging – God’s nature does not shift with culture, time, or human opinion. “I the LORD do not change.” (Malachi 3:6 NIV)
This means we can trust Him completely. He is steady when the world shakes, faithful when people fail, and near when we call on Him.
Connection to Jesus
In the New Testament, Jesus reveals that He and the Father are one. The God of the Old Testament (YAHWEH) is fully revealed in Jesus Christ.
- “Before Abraham was born, I am!” (John 8:58 NIV) — Jesus directly identified Himself with YAHWEH.
- “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” (John 14:9 NIV) — To know Jesus is to know God.
This means the same God who spoke from the burning bush is the God who came down to walk among us, to die for our sins, and to rise again to redeem us. Jesus is not just a messenger about God — He is God in human flesh (John 1:1, John 1:14).
Facts about God
YAHWEH is not distant. He is personal, loving, and faithful.
- He made us in His image. “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27 NIV)
- He desires relationship with us. “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” (John 17:3 NIV)
- He keeps His promises. Throughout Scripture, God proves that He is a covenant-keeping God, faithful to His word.
Knowing God is the foundation of life itself. He alone offers forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life through His Son, Jesus. Everything else we pursue — money, success, pleasure — is temporary. But God offers life that never ends.
How to Respond
- Worship Him for who He is – Recognize His greatness and holiness.
- Trust His Word – Because He never changes, His promises will never fail.
- Follow Him through Christ – Salvation and relationship with God come only through Jesus.
- Live as His image bearer – Reflect His love, truth, and holiness to the world.
“I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.” (Isaiah 42:8 NIV)
God is not just an idea — He is YAHWEH, the one true God who revealed Himself fully in Jesus Christ. To know Him is to find true peace, joy, and eternal life.

Who is Jesus?
Many people know the name of Jesus, but not everyone knows who He truly is. Jesus is not just a teacher or prophet—He is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the only way to eternal life.
Who He Is
- The Son of God – “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14 NIV)
- The Savior – “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10 NIV)
- The Only Way to God – “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6 NIV)
Why He Matters
Without Jesus, humanity is separated from God because of sin. But Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead to give us new life.
- “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 NIV)
- “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 NIV)
What This Means for You
Through Jesus, you can have forgiveness, peace with God, and the promise of eternal life.
- “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12 NIV)
- “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1 NIV)
How to Respond
Salvation is not earned—it’s a gift. You receive it by turning from sin and trusting in Jesus.
- Believe that He died for you and rose again.
- Confess Him as Lord of your life.
- Ask for forgiveness of your sins and repent.
- Follow Him as His disciple.
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 NIV)
Everything we do is to point you toward Jesus—because He is the foundation, the hope, and the purpose of life.

The Trinity:
✝ Understanding the Holy Spirit & Trinity
One of the most important truths about God is that He is One God in Three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This mystery is called the Trinity.
What the Bible Teaches
- One God – “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.” (Deuteronomy 6:4 NIV)
- Three Persons – The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Spirit is God. Each is fully divine, yet they are not three gods but one God.
- The Great Commission – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19 NIV)
- Unity in Creation and Redemption – “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” (Genesis 1:1–2 NIV) … “Through him [Jesus] all things were made.” (John 1:3 NIV)
How the Trinity Works
- God the Father – Creator, sustainer, and source of all things.
- God the Son (Jesus Christ) – The Word made flesh, who saves us through His death and resurrection.
- God the Holy Spirit – God’s presence with us, guiding, convicting, and empowering believers.
They are distinct in role but united in essence, will, and purpose.
Why It Matters
- The Trinity shows that God is relational — love exists within Himself, and He invites us into that relationship.
- Our salvation is Trinitarian: The Father sends the Son, the Son redeems us, and the Spirit seals and empowers us.
- Understanding the Trinity deepens worship: we honor the Father, through the Son, in the power of the Spirit.

Closing Thought
The Trinity is a divine mystery we can’t fully grasp, but Scripture makes it clear: God is one, yet He reveals Himself in three persons. As believers, we don’t need to completely explain it to trust it — we need to believe it, live in its truth, and worship the one true God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
