Day 1: God the Creator
Genesis 1:1 NIV – “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Devotional Thought:
God is the Author of life and the Maker of everything that exists. He spoke creation into being, and His power holds the universe together. Nothing exists apart from Him, and everything owes its existence to His word.
When you recognize God as Creator, it changes how you see yourself. You are not an accident or random collection of cells — you are made with intention and design. Psalm 139 reminds us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Every part of you was shaped by His hand.
As Creator, God also sustains His creation. Every sunrise, every heartbeat, every breath is a testimony to His care. The world is not spinning out of control — it rests in the hands of the One who made it.
Worshiping God as Creator leads us to humility and gratitude. We are small, but we are known. We are weak, but we are cared for. Creation itself reminds us that our God is powerful and worthy of all glory.

Exodus 3:14 NIV – “God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
Devotional Thought:
When Moses asked God for His name, God revealed Himself as “I AM WHO I AM.” This name — YAHWEH — declares God’s eternal, unchanging nature. He has no beginning and no end. He depends on nothing, yet everything depends on Him.
“I AM” also means God is always present. He is not locked in the past or limited to the future — He is the God of now. That means whatever you face today, He is with you. His presence is constant, even when you can’t feel it.
This truth is deeply reassuring. In a world full of change and uncertainty, God remains steady. People may fail you, circumstances may shift, but YAHWEH is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
When you pray to God, you’re not speaking to an idea or a distant force. You’re speaking to the eternal, living God who revealed Himself to Moses and still reveals Himself to us today.

Isaiah 6:3 NIV – “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
Devotional Thought:
Holiness means God is utterly set apart, pure, and perfect. When Isaiah had a vision of God’s throne room, the angels cried “Holy, holy, holy.” This repetition shows us the depth of God’s holiness — it is central to who He is.
God’s holiness reveals the seriousness of sin. Standing in His presence, Isaiah immediately recognized his own unworthiness. Compared to God’s perfection, our flaws and failures are clear.
But the story doesn’t end there. God’s holiness doesn’t push us away — it draws us into transformation. Through Jesus, we are made holy, clothed in His righteousness. God calls us to reflect His holiness in how we live.
Holiness is not about legalism; it’s about closeness to God. The more we walk with Him, the more our lives reflect His purity and love.

Malachi 3:6 NIV – “I the LORD do not change.”

Everything around us changes — people, cultures, emotions, even our own desires. But God never changes. His nature, His character, and His promises are constant.
This truth brings security. If God changed, we could never be sure of His love, His justice, or His forgiveness. But because He is unchanging, we can build our lives on His Word, knowing it will never fail.
Think of how often circumstances shift in life. Jobs come and go, relationships rise and fall, health changes. Yet through it all, God’s faithfulness remains steady. His Word is as true today as when it was first spoken.
This truth should give you confidence. The same God who was faithful to Abraham, Moses, and David is faithful to you today.

1 John 4:8 NIV – “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
Devotional Thought:
Love is not just something God does — it is who He is. His very nature is love. Every act of kindness, mercy, and grace flows out of His love.
The greatest expression of this love is seen in Jesus. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NIV). God’s love is sacrificial and unconditional.
This love changes everything. You don’t have to earn it. You don’t have to fear losing it. His love covers your past, sustains your present, and secures your future.
As His children, we are called to reflect this love. Jesus said the world would know His disciples by their love (John 13:35). To know God is to live a life marked by love.

Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV – “Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”
Devotional Thought:
Faithfulness is God’s reliability and dependability. He always does what He says, and His promises never fail. From generation to generation, He proves Himself trustworthy.
Even when people are unfaithful, God remains faithful. 2 Timothy 2:13 says, “If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.” His character cannot change — He is true to His word.
Think about how many times you’ve seen God come through — maybe in small ways like provision for a need, or in big ways like salvation itself. Every answered prayer, every act of mercy, is a testimony to His faithfulness.
Knowing God is faithful frees us from fear. Whatever trial you face, you can hold onto His promises with confidence, because His faithfulness is not based on your performance, but on His unchanging nature.

Psalm 89:14 NIV – “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.”
Devotional Thought:
God’s justice means He is fair, righteous, and impartial. He cannot overlook sin, because doing so would make Him unjust. His justice ensures that wrongs will not go unpunished.
At the same time, God’s justice is perfectly balanced with His love. At the cross, His justice and mercy met. Jesus took the punishment we deserved so that we could receive forgiveness and grace. Justice was satisfied, and mercy was extended.
This gives us confidence that evil will not win in the end. Though injustice may exist in the world now, God promises that one day He will set all things right.
Living in light of God’s justice means we also pursue justice — treating people with fairness, defending the oppressed, and standing against wrongdoing in ways that reflect His heart.

Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV – “Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Devotional Thought:
Mercy is God not giving us what we deserve. Because of sin, we deserve judgment, but God shows compassion and forgiveness instead. His mercy is new every morning — it never runs out.
Think about the weight of that. Each day, no matter what mistakes you made yesterday, His mercy is fresh and available. You don’t have to live under shame or fear.
God’s mercy is most clearly shown at the cross. Jesus bore the punishment so that we could receive mercy instead of wrath. Through His sacrifice, we experience forgiveness, restoration, and hope.
Mercy also calls us to extend compassion to others. Just as we have received mercy, we are called to forgive, show patience, and reflect God’s compassion in our relationships.

Jeremiah 32:17 NIV – “Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”
Devotional Thought:
God’s power has no limits. He created the universe with His word, parted seas, raised the dead, and defeated sin and death through Jesus. Nothing is too hard for Him.
This truth is both humbling and comforting. The God who holds galaxies together is the same God who listens to your prayers. He is powerful enough to move mountains and personal enough to care about your daily struggles.
When we face impossible situations, it’s easy to doubt. But God’s omnipotence reminds us that our problems are never bigger than His power. His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
Because God is all-powerful, we can pray boldly and live courageously, knowing that nothing is beyond His ability to change.

📖 Psalm 147:5 NIV – “Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.”

God knows everything — past, present, and future. Nothing is hidden from Him. He knows your thoughts, fears, desires, and even the number of hairs on your head (Luke 12:7).
For some, this truth feels intimidating, but it should bring comfort. God’s perfect knowledge means He fully understands you and still loves you. There’s no need to pretend with Him.
His omniscience also means His wisdom is far greater than ours. When life doesn’t make sense, we can trust that He sees the bigger picture. His perspective is eternal, while ours is limited.
This truth calls us to humility. Instead of leaning on our own understanding, we are called to trust His guidance and submit to His will.

God’s presence fills all of creation. There is nowhere you can go where He is not with you. Whether in joy or sorrow, on mountaintops or in valleys, He is there.
For believers, this truth brings comfort and courage. You are never alone. Even when people abandon you, God remains. Even in the darkest night, His presence is a light.
This also means His presence is not limited to a church building. Wherever you are — at work, at home, in your car — God is with you. Every moment is sacred because He is near.
Knowing God is ever-present helps us live with awareness. We are called to walk in His presence daily, acknowledging Him in all we do.

The clearest picture of who God is comes through Jesus Christ. He is the visible image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). If you want to know what God is like, look at Jesus.
In His compassion for the hurting, we see God’s love. In His authority over nature and demons, we see God’s power. In His death and resurrection, we see God’s justice and mercy perfectly fulfilled.
Jesus is not just a prophet or teacher about God — He is God in the flesh. He came to reveal the Father and to make a way for us to have eternal life with Him.
By knowing Jesus, we know God. By following Him, we walk in the truth of who God is.
